For our 15th anniversary, my husband and I decided that we wanted to go somewhere we had never been. We also wanted to go somewhere warm. So we settled on Palm Springs. It was the perfect long weekend getaway. I can't recommend Palm Springs enough for couples. From outdoor adventures to good food and relaxation, Palm Springs has something to offer everyone.
We went in the beginning of March. This time of year provides really comfortable temperatures and allows Oregonians like myself a nice respite from the cold and rainy weather we experience at this time of year. Due to its location in the Coachella Valley in southern California, weather can vary. In the summer, you will find almost unbearable high temps, whereas March can range from warm to hot and is also one of the more popular times to go.
For us, it was the first time away from our kids in a while and we wanted to do things that we wouldn't normally do if we had the kids in tow. So, we focused our time on hiking and lying by the pool. We stayed at the Hyatt Regency Indian Wells and I can't recommend this resort enough. It's located in Indian Wells outside of the main hustle and bustle of Palm Springs. This made it feel more secluded and relaxing, which is exactly what we wanted.
I'll share with you our trip day-by-day to give you an idea of how you might spend a long weekend in Palm Springs without kids.
